Big River Farms runs a land-based organic farming education program on 60 acres of certified organic farmland near Marine on St. Croix. Our education program focuses on farmers of color, immigrants, women farmers, and indigenous growers. In addition to common vegetables and berries, many of our farmers also grow culturally specific crops for the diverse communities found in the Twin Cities metro area.

Distribution

We primarily service the Twin Cities metro area and western WI. We do not have a set minimum/maximum product quantity, as we have flexibility to aggregate from a number of farmers or to directly contract with individual farmers. Big River Farms delivers direct from farm-to-customer, as well as through distributors.

Business Experience

Big River Farms began distributing produce in 2007 and has held organic certification since 2008. Our farm students have supplied produce to a variety of accounts, including local restaurants, food co-ops, food shelves, and farm-to-school programs.
