Warm up with Local Drinks Recipes

Minnesota Grown members 7 Vines Vineyard and Winery and Far North Spirits shared their recipes for mulled wine and an old fashioned.

Frontenac Rosé Mulled Wine, 7 Vines Vineyard

Ingredients:

1 bottle 7 Vines Vineyard Frontenac Rosé Wine
2/3 cup water
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. allspice berries
2 star anise
2 cardamom pods
1/2 tsp. whole cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 orange, quartered

Combine all ingredients in large saucepan. Bring to a boil and simmer over low heat. Serve warm after heated for 30 minutes. Pour into mugs. Enjoy!

Seven Vines wine

Old Fashioned, Far North Spirits

Ingredients:

2 oz Roknar rye whiskey
3 drops Angostura bitters
Bartender's spoon (or two) simple syrup (1:1 ratio sugar to water)
Orange peel
Black cherry

Stir in mixing glass over ice 40 rotations. Strain into low ball glass with large cube. Express orange peel over drink and drop in alongside ice cube. Rest black cherry on top of cube.
