Honey-Basil Lemonade

basil lemonade (1)

Fresh honey and basil bring a new twist to a classic refreshment.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh juice from 10-12 lemons
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 cups basil leaves loosely packed
  • 3 cups cold water
  • 1 quart ice
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

  1. Combine lemon juice, honey, basil leaves, and a pinch of salt in a blender. Blend your concoction on high for about a minute or until smooth.
  2. Filter your mix into a fine mesh strainer over your pitcher. Discard the solids. Add cold water and whisk to combine.
  3. Add ice and garnish with fresh basil for a refreshing hot-weather drink.

Serves 4.
