Blueberries and Raspberries
Blueberry and raspberry season is here and we can’t be more excited! Minnesota farmers are reporting terrifically tasty berries and expect to have a great season. Many southern and metro have opened for pre-picked and pick-your-own berries over the last few weeks and will be followed by northern producers shortly after in mid to late July.

Hmong American Farmers Association
This month, we had the opportunity to visit the Hmong American Farmers Association’s (HAFA) Farm in Hastings and learn more about Hmong American farmers in Minnesota and their role in revitalizing our state’s local food movement. Learn about Hmong history in Minnesota and how a group of Hmong farmers formed HAFA as a way to support each other and overcome the unique obstacles they face as immigrant farmers. This article includes a local take on a traditional Hmong recipe and beautiful photos taken by Mike Hazard.
