ST. PAUL FARMERS' MARKET
St. Paul's first public market (and perhaps the first in the Twin Cities), founded in 1853. The St. Paul Farmers' Market is operated by the St. Paul Growers Association and allows only fresh, locally grown produce to be sold - directly from the grower to the consumer. Also available are bakery goods, cheese, poultry, beef, pork, lamb, maple syrup, eggs, bagel sandwiches, honey, organic plants and produce, flowers, and much more. The market's hours vary throughout the season, but September hours are Saturdays 7am-1pm and Sundays 8am-1pm.
MILL CITY MUSEUM
Discover the lively Mississippi riverfront — the very birthplace of Minneapolis — and experience the fiery past and dynamic present of this National Historic Landmark. Built within the ruins of what was once the world’s largest flour mill, Mill City Museum is packed with fun for all ages. The flagship mill of Washburn-Crosby Co. (later General Mills) was the largest and most technologically advanced flour mill in the world when it was completed in 1880. Also home to the Mill City Farmers' Market on Saturdays from 8am-1pm.
FARMERS' KITCHEN + BAR
Located in downtown Minneapolis, Farmers Kitchen + Bar is the first and only restaurant wholly owned and operated by Minnesota Farmers Union. The farmer-to-table restaurant serves Breakfast, All-Day and Supper menus. The restaurant also has a coffee bar with an assortment of freshly baked pastries. Diners can also explore the market to find various fresh grab-and-go items, products from local makers, and farmer-fresh produce, eggs, meats and more.
OWAMNI
Winner of the 2022 James Beard Award for Best New Restaurant in the country, Owamni by the Sioux Chef is a modern indigenous full-service establishment. "Experience the true flavors of North America, featuring foods of Mni Sota Makoce, Land Where the Waters Reflect the Clouds." Chefs Sean Sherman and Dana Thompson prioritize purchasing from Indigenous food producers and have removed colonial ingredients like wheat flour, cane sugar and dairy from their menus. Reservations are recommended (and in high demand), limited walk-in seating is available on the patio on a first-come, first-served basis, weather permitting.
