Harvesting Fun: Big Springs Farm

Meet Pamela and Justin, the husband-and-wife duo behind Big Springs Farm Pumpkins & Corn Maze LLC, a fall adventure farm in Lanesboro, MN. Their farm is packed with fun activities like a pick-your-own pumpkin patch with over 100 varieties, a themed 10-acre corn maze, and plenty more.

Big Springs Farm has been in Justin’s family since the 1800s, and transforming it into an agritourism destination was a natural next step. Inspired by their time studying in Switzerland, where agritourism is central to farming life, Pamela and Justin brought those ideas home. Now in their fourth season, Justin oversees the crops and builds the farm activities, while Pamela takes care of behind-the-scenes tasks like marketing and inventory management.

What makes Big Springs Farm stand out is the sheer variety of activities: zip lines, flower picking, hayrides along the cattle pasture, and of course, the corn maze. Pamela and Justin make sure there's something for everyone, designing their farm so both adults and kids can have a blast together.

Their favorite part? Dreaming up fun new ideas for guests while keeping an eye on their "work to fun" ratio. "When we brainstorm new ideas," Pamela says, "we ask ourselves - how much fun will people have and how much work is there to do it?” Their mission is simple: create lasting memories with plenty of fun along the way.
