Did you catch the Minnesota Grown segment on Prairie Yard and Garden on Pioneer PBS? Then you know you easy it can be to make quick, delicious pickles. This recipe will put you in the mood for summer when cucumbers are fresh, crunchy, and abundant.

Ingredients:

  • 8 heads of dill, separated
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • Cucumbers
  • 6 cups water
  • 3 cups white vinegar
  • 3 tbs. sugar
  • 3 tbs. canning salt

Directions:

1. Make brine by combining water, white vinegar, sugar, and canning salt, and bring to a boil.

2. Put four heads of dill and garlic in the bottom of a large glass jar.

3. Pack the jar with cucumbers and top with the remaining dill.

4. Pour brine into the jar over the cucumbers and then cover.
