February 20 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm$5
Where there’s crops, there’s critters. It’s just one of the many banes of produce growers facing demands to both protect food safety and preserve environmental quality. What are ideas for protecting your crops from wildlife contamination? What are the potential risks that animals pose to food safety? This session is a way to share ideas from looking at tracks and who is visiting, to ideas for keeping animals out of the fields. It is a fun session meant for networking and outreach for gardeners, local growers and anyone interested. Join Annalisa Hultberg, University of Minnesota Statewide Extension Educator, who is very helpful in answering questions about food safety. The targets are farmers’ market vendors, truck farmers and avid gardeners. Minnesota Farmer’s Union will co-sponsor this event.
