The Minnesota Grown Program is a statewide partnership between the Minnesota Department of Agriculture and producers of Minnesota agricultural products. Created in the late 1980s by specialty crop growers to differentiate their products, the program has become a trusted resource to connect producers and consumers.
Minnesota Grown creates the online Minnesota Grown Directory, which connects Minnesotans directly to farmers, farmers markets, and other producers. Search through the Directory to find farmers markets, CSA farms, garden centers, wineries, fruit & vegetable growers, pick-your-own farms, livestock producers, meat processors, Christmas tree growers, and producers specialty products like honey, wild rice, and cheese.
The Minnesota Grown Program works hard to provide members with marketing tools and resources. For more information about member-services, visit our Members & Partners page in the main menu to be directed to more information.

In 2023, the Minnesota Grown program worked with Management Analysis and Development (MAD), the in-house consulting practice for the state, to develop a three-to-five-year strategic plan. They used a participatory process, engaging new and existing Minnesota Grown members, partner organizations, the Minnesota Grown Advisory Committee, and Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) staff to create the strategic plan. The planning process was informed by data from surveys of Minnesota producers, Minnesota Grown members, consumers, and supply chain partners, as well as program performance data and other secondary data sources on local agriculture.*
The plan consists of three strategic priorities, including:
Within each of these strategic priorities, Minnesota Grown has identified two goals to focus their efforts. Within the goals they share key collaborative partners to help them achieve their goals and performance measures for tracking their progress towards reaching their goals.
